散歩道で On my walking route

散歩に出る時はなるべく自然に囲まれた経路を通るようにしている。なので、綺麗なものや面白いものをしょっちゅう見つけることができる。今日は小川沿いの道を桑の実をむしって食べながら歩いた。桑も飽きたなぁと思った頃、桜の実を見つけた。最近は、この種の桜の実を見ることは少ない。私が子供の頃は、大抵の桜の木は実をつけてよく食べた。そんなに旨いものではない、苦くて、酸っぱくて少しだけ甘い。思い出を思い出しながら幾つか食べてみた。記憶よりも不味かった。
When I go out to take a walk, I try to chose route that are surrounded by nature. Therefore, I can find many things beautiful and interesting. Today, I was taking a route along small streams while plucking mulberries and eat them. When I felt I was tired of mulberries, I found cherries. Recently, it is not often to see berries of flowering cherry tree. When I was a kid, most cherry trees bore berries, and we ate them. The taste was not so good, bitter, sour, and sweet just a little. Recalling the memory I tasted some. They tasted worse than my memory.

次にこの看板を見つけた。
Then, I found the signboard saying "Lilies at Ohgigawa park is at the best time to see."

確かに黄色のユリが満開だ。
Indeed, yellow lilies are in full bloom.

赤いのはまだ咲き始めたばかりのようだ。
Red ones are just started flowering.

これは公園の近くの大きなお家の石垣だ。皐月が綺麗に刈り込まれ、花が見事に咲いている。
This is a stone wall of a big house near the garden. Azaleas are skillfully trimmed , and flowering fabulous!

染終わり Finished dyeing

朝、マフラーを水洗い。
In the morning I rinsed the scarf in water.

そして干した。
And hung to dry.

３日間に渡るプロジェクト終了。
The three day project was over.

染め続け Continue dyeing.

2016.5.23

一晩が過ぎた。桑を煮沸して色素を抽出し、マフラーを浸した。
After one night has passed, I started boiling mulberries in the pan, and extracted colourant from mulberries and soaked the scarf.

これが煮沸した桑の実だ。こいつらは堆肥製造エリアに捨てられ、外側の布は乾かして何かに使おうと思っている。
These are boiled mulberries. The berries were dumped in my compost maker, and the wrapping cloth were dried to become something useful.

指のほうが染められてしまった。
I guess, I dyed my fingers, too.

桑の実をたくさん集めすぎたみたいなので、捨てるよりはとジャムを作ることにした。
It looks like I collected berries too much. Rather than dumping them I decided to make some jam.

試食。ウウン。旨い。
Let's taste.  Mmmm, yummy.

マフラーはもう一晩置いておかないといけない。ので、またまた続くだ。
The scarf must be kept there one more night. So, this will continue again.

また染色中 Dyeing again

去年、シルクのスカーフとカシミアのマフラーを桑の実で染めた。一年が過ぎて色あせてきたし今年もまた桑の実の季節だ。俺はもう一度やってみようと決め、過去数日間に何回か桑の実を集め、冷凍しておいた。
Last year, I dyed my silk scurf and cashmere scurf with mulberry.
An year after that the color of the scurf faded and it is a season of mulberry again. I decided to dye the cashmere scurf again, and collected mulberry and froze them several times on the last few days.

去年よりよい結果を得るために、インターネットを探し直し、このサイト、畜産技術の紹介：羊 ウールの草木染め、を見つけた。驚くことに去年の方法はカシミアには適切ではないらしい。サイトによると染色する前に媒染をしたほうが良いとのこと。指導に従い媒染液でマフラーを煮た。

Obtaining the better result, I searched internet again, and found the site of Japan Livestock Association. To my surprise, the method I used last year was not proper for dyeing wool material. The site says it is better to start fixing before coloring. Following the instruction I boiled my scurf in the fixing solution.

30分間煮て、一晩置いておくらしい。
次の段階は明日書こう。

I am supposed to boil for thirty minutes, and let it stay for one night.

I will report the next step tomorrow.

花遊庭

2016.5.19
花遊庭、造園業者所有の庭園だが、に行った。そろそろバラが見頃かと思ったのだ。花遊庭は造園業者の展示庭園みたいなものだが、きもちのよい庭園公園のようだ。
We went to "Kayutei" that is a garden owned by a landscaper since we imagined the roses there should be best to see. It is a kind of exhibition garden of the landscaper that looks like a cozy garden park.

この写真はレストランの入口、ここからも庭の景観を楽しむことが出来る。
This is an entrance to the restaurant that guests can enjoy the good view of the garden.

幾つかの滝まであるよ。
There are even several water falls.

 彫刻も。
And, sculptures.

期待通り、バラは満開。
As expected, roses were in full bloom.

チョウチョにとってもいい季節みたいだ。
A good season for a butterfly, too.

いろいろな種類のバラが沢山ある。
これは遠くから見た時ダリアかと思った。
A lot of roses of many kinds.
I thought this was dahlia from the distance.

これはとても良い香り。この香りを届けられないのは残念。
This one was fragrant so nice. It is a pity that I cannot send you the fragrance.

クレマチスはバラと合うね。
Clematises are good companions with roses.

ここのジューンベリーはもう赤かった。うちのはまだ緑色なのに。
June berry there was already red that is still green in my garden.

午後の一時間があっという間に過ぎていった。
An hour in an afternoon passed so fast.
