今日の目標 Today's target

今日の目標は福寿草でした。名古屋農業センターで咲き始めたと発表されていたのです。自転車で15分か20分位です。
Today's target was Amur Adonis announced to have started blooming at Nagoya Agricultural Center. It is about fifteen or twenty minutes by bicycle.

農業センターに着いて、去年も行ったのに、道に迷ってしまい花の場所を見つけるまでに10分もかかってしまった。
After I reached the center, although I went to the garden dedicated to this flower, I got lost and wondered about ten minutes to find the location.

ありました。福寿草は日照の中でしか咲かないので、10時頃に行きました。ここは午後には陰ってしまうのです。
Yes, they are. They open their flower only in sunshine, so I was there at about ten o'clock. The location is shaded in the afternoon.

綺麗。

老人向けファッション Fashion for senior people

ここ数週間身につけているのはこれです。マフラーのことです。このマフラーは単に首を包んでいるだけではなく、中にzippo懐炉が入っていて背中を大変暖かく温めてくれているのです。いつ頃か覚えていないのですが、体を冷やすと背中から左腕にかけて辛い痛みを感じるのです。
This is what I wear these few weeks. I mean a scurf. It is not just covering my neck, but it has a zippo hand warmer inside on my back to keep my back really warm. I don't remember since when, but in last four or five years, I feel bad pain from my back to my left leg when I have my body in cold.

以前その痛みを感じた時、素晴らしい知人で、素晴らしい整体師に、とにかく背中を温めなさいと言われたのです。言われたとおりすると、直ぐに良く効きました。それでこの冬になると背中を暖めるという習慣を続けているのです。懐炉を使い始める前は毎日使い捨てカイロを使っていたのです。でも、毎日カイロを捨ててしまうということがあまり気に入ってはいませんでした。しかし、懐炉をこのために使う方法を思いつかなかったのです。
A very good friend of mine that is a very good chiropractor told me one day to warm my back is good no matter what. When I followed as she told, it worked fast and good. So I am continuing this warming my back habit during winter. Before I started to use my hand warmer, I was using disposable hot pack every day. But, I did not like the idea of disposing hot pack every day, but I could not find a way to use my hand warmer for this purpose.

この懐炉は私が東京で勤めていた頃、外回りが多く東京はこちらよりずっと寒いので買ったものです。冬の間は毎日ポケットに入れていました。
The hand warmer was bought when I was working in Tokyo, where I walked outside a lot and was much chillier than here. I had it in my pocket during winter every day.

懐炉をぶら下げるためのベルトを作ろうかと考えたのですが、裁縫は得意ではありません。ある日、妻にそのアイデアを話すと、縫うんじゃなくて安全ピンで留めたら?と言われました。そうか! そこでこのマフラーと安全ピンを使って懐炉をぶら下げるというアイデアに至ったわけです。始めに薄い綿のスカーフを使ったのですが、熱すぎる時がありました。それで、今はこの厚いマフラーを使い良くなりました、ちょっとゴツい感じではありますが。マフラーは縛ってあるわけではないので、懐炉の高さを調節することも簡単に出来ます。
I thought of making a belt to hang the hand warmer, but I am not good at sawing. Then, one day I talked about the idea to my wife and she said why didn't I think of pinning rather than sawing. Aha! That is how I came to the idea of using a scarf and pins to carry the hand warmer. First I used thin cotton one, but sometimes it was too hot. So, now I use this thicker one that is better, a bit bulky though. I can easily adjust the height of the hot point since the scarf is not tightly knotted.

マフラーを留めておくためにパーカーの紐で結んでいます。写真ではよく見えませんが。
To hold the muffler stable, I tie the scarf with a string of the hoodie I wear that is hard to see in the picture.

私の使っているのはこれです。もう7、８年は使っています。この小さなカップいっぱいの燃料で8、９時間暖かい状態が続きます。経済的です。ゴミも出ないし。 My hand warmer is one of this. I've been using this for long time, more than seven - eight years I mean. It stays hot eight - nine hours by a cup, the small cut in the picture below, of fuel. Good deal. No waste, too.

マットブラックの製品も見つけました。これも悪くないね。 I found a matte black one. This is not bad, too.

オレンジまで!! And orange!!

他の会社も同様の製品を作っています。例えばハクキンカイロ。同じ原理です。化学反応で熱を出しています。燃やしているのではありません。 Some other makers are making similar products. For example Hakukin Kairo. This is by a Japanese company.  Same concept, heat by a chemical reaction, no burning. 実はzippoがハンドウオーマーを出したのは2010年、ハクキンカイロは1923年なのです。ですから、こちらがオリジナルなんでしょうね。 Actually zippo started their hand warmer since 2010, and this one since 1923. So, this should be an original one.

私の痛みを根本的に直すために、原因を知りたかったのです。心臓、骨、一体何? でも、今のところどの医者も原因を突き止めてくれません。
I have been keen to find a cause of my pain to solve fundamentally. Heart, bones, or whatever? But no doctor was able to diagnose so far.

このブログを書くために、何故背中を暖めると気持ちが良いのかを検索してみました。沢山の説明がありました。説得力があると思ったのは背中を暖めると大動脈が温まり、大動脈があたたまると、温まった血液が全身をめぐるというものです。
To write this blog, I googled why I feel good when warm my back. Many explanations. One I thought reasonable is I can warm an aorta when I warm my back. Then, as aorta warmed, warmed blood goes around whole my body.

理由はどうあれ、同じような症状の人は背中温めをお勧めします。方法は何でもいいんです。
Whatever the reason, I recommend back warming if any of you have a similar symptom whatever heater you use.

節分 End of winter

梅の花は早春の印ですね。でも、名古屋にしては早くないか?

Plum flowers are the sign of early spring. But, isn't it too early for Nagoya? 

これは名城公園フラワープラザ恒例の梅まつりです。つまり、屋内なのです。

It is an annual "Plum festival" held at Meijo Park Flower Plaza that is an indoor garden.

全景はこんな感じです。何本もの梅の木を根こそぎ掘って飾ってあるんです。ビックリですね。この木たちは2月2日から5日迄飾られてまた地面に戻されるのです。
The whole view is like this. They brought in many plum trees dug with roots and displayed them. Amazing. The trees will be there from Feb. 2 to Feb.5 and go back to the ground afterward.

このおじさんは長〜いこと場所を専有して写真を撮っていました。私もこれを戒めとしないといけませんね。
The guy were there taking pictures for a looong time occupying the space. I should make him as a good lesson for me.

勿論、呈茶コーナーもありです。ちゃんと飾り付けもされています。

And, of course there is a tea serving with nice display.

どうやら、白鳥庭園から来ているようです。
It looks like all these come from Shiratori Garden.

見ても良し、味わったらとても良し。
Looks good, tastes great.

帰り道に今日が節分だと思い出した。

On the way back, I recalled it is "Setsubun" today. It is the end day of winter in Japanese traditional calendar. Japanese have a custom to throw roasted soy beans to ward off evil spirits and invite good luck. At some shrines and temples, they make big stages on that monk or qualified people throw beans and people try to catch some of them to capture good luck with them. Of course, the qualification of throwing beans can be bought by money.　;-) 

向かったのは大須観音。

鳩まで豆を捕まえに飛んできた。多分・・・
Even a dove comes to catch some of them. Maybe...

信心深い或いは節約家の老女が落ちた豆を集めていました。
A faithful senior lady or thrifty lady is picking up dropped beans.

運良く、帽子を使って２個捕まえることが出来ました。

Fortunately, I catch two beans using my hat. 

と思ったが、実はもう一個パーカーに隠れていたのがありました。♡

Having said that, actually there is one more hidden in a hoodie.♡ 

着物でぃ Kimono day

2017.1.9
妻と白鳥庭園に行った。今日は成人の日の三連休の最終日。我が家では誰も二十歳になったわけではない。では? 白鳥庭園はこの三連休は着物を着た人は無料というサービスをしていたので、行ったのだ。私は年間パスがあるが妻はない。妻は着物を着ていった。更に、先着50組は無料で写真撮影してもらえるというのもあった。
My wife and I went to Shiratori Garden. Today, it is a last day of three day weekend of the holiday of the coming of age. Nobody got twenty last year in our family. So what? Since the Shiratori Garden was offering free entrance to people that wear Kimono during this three days holidays, we visited there. I have a yearly pass for senior citizens, but not my wife. My wife wore Kimono taking the opportunity. Also, there is another offering that fifty groups that wear Kimono are given opportunities to be taken photos for free.

Putting our pictures aside. It was a fine winter day.

梅も咲き始めた。

お腹が空いたので喜八が出していた店で蕎麦を頂いた。
旨かった〜。
As we got hungry, we took Soba noodle specially prepared by Kihachi restaurant. Nice Soba!!

今日は東山植物園今年最後の開園日である。残念なことに動物園の方は園内の鳥が何匹か鳥インフルで死んだために閉園になっている。いつまで閉園か予測できない。

Today is the last day in this year that the Higashiyama botanical garden is open. Unfortunately, the Higashiyama zoo has been closed because some of the birds there was found dead by the infection of the avian influenza. The will be closed for the period unpredicted.

屋外には余り見るものがない。千両の実。
There were few to watch in outdoor. Senryo seeds.

食べてよと頬を赤らめせがむ実か
Please take me, blushing cheeks, seeds beg.

何分か歩いて、温室に入った。これが今日見たかった所である。中は霧が出ているか?いや私の冷えたカメラが梅雨に覆われただけである。 悪くないよな?
Walking a few minutes, I entered a conservatory. This was where I would like to visit today. It was warm inside. It was hazy inside? No, it is only my chilled camera was covered with mist. Isn't it pretty good?

梅雨を拭くやいなやまた曇ってしまう。面白い木を見つけた。サガリバナ。これは私達が今年6月に沖縄に行った時に見たかった花の木だ。その時は蕾と枯れた花を見つけただけだった。というのはこれは花が夜に咲くからである。 植物園はこの花のために夜間開場するだろうか。チェックしないといけないな。
No sooner I wiped the lens than it got foggy again. I fond as interesting tree, Barringtonia. This was a tree I wanted to see flowers of it when we visited Okinawa this past June. I only found some buds and finished flower then because it flowers at night. Will this garden open at night for this flower? I have to check.

私のようなおっさんが急ぎ足で私を追い越し上方の何かの写真を取り始めた。彼に続くと、上の幹から幾つかの終わったばかりの花がぶら下がっていのに気づいた。月下美人に似た花だが、葉が違う。
One aged man like me hurriedly passed me and started taking pictures of something above him. Following him, I saw some flowers just finished hanging from some stems above. The flowers look similar to Barringtonia, but the leaves are different.

これが葉の様子である。他にももう何日も前に枯れたとみえる花がぶら下がっていた。おっさんは親切にこの花について色々説明してくれたが殆ど聞き取れなかった。 というのは補聴器を持ってこなかったのである。おっさんボイスは最も辛い。きっと彼は毎日個々に来て一番いいタイミングを狙っているのだろう。
This is the view of the leaves. There were some dead flowers that seemingly flowered more than a few days ago. The dude kindly explained about the flower that I was barely able to catch because I did not wear my hearing aid. The voice of old man is the toughest for me. Apparently he visits this place almost everyday to take pictures of the best timing.

カメラが温まったので、蘭の場所に戻った。
As my camera was warm enough, I came back to the orchids.

植物園を出た後、茶色の猫数匹に出会った。どうやら誰かが餌をやっているようだ。一匹に近づいたら睨まれた。私が餌を取ろうとしていると思ったのかもしれぬ。
After leaving the botanical garden. I met some brown cats. It appeared that somebody is feeding them. Approaching one, it glared at me. Maybe it thought I was trying to rob the food.

計画では公園の近くの蕎麦屋で昼食にしようと考えていたのだ。11時頃であった。残念ながら考えていた蕎麦屋は11:30開店だった。外は寒い。開店まで待つという案を否定して、前から気になっていたもう一つの蕎麦屋に向かった。そこも帰り道だ。蕎麦屋の近くで地下鉄を降りた。蕎麦屋に近づくと、駐車場が車でどんどんと満たされていく。良い前兆だ。

数十分後、名古屋で最高の蕎麦屋の一つだと判った。
I had been planning to have lunch at a soba, buckwheat noodles, restaurant near the garden. It was about eleven o'clock. Unfortunately the restaurant I had in mind would open at half past eleven. It was cold outside. I denied an plan of waiting the restaurant to open, and headed for the another soba restaurant that I had been on my mind. It was also on my way back home. I got off the subway at the station next to the restaurant. As I approached there, the parking was just being filled by many cars in front of me. It was a good sign.

After some ten minutes, I found it is the one of the finest soba restaurant in Nagoya.

スマホ故障

2016.12.21

スマホが故障した。一ヵ月くらい前からどうもタッチスクリーンの反応が良くなかったのだが、最近めっきり酷くなり、ロックスクリーンの解除PINも入力できない、電話がかかってきても出られない、ということが屡々になり、修理頼むことにした。インストールしたソフトが悪いのではないか、保護シートのせいではないか、などとも思い色々やってみたが駄目だった。まだ我慢してできないこともなかったが、保証期間の内が良かろうと思ったのだ。

暫くは見知らぬ所に行くこともないし、電話は前から殆どかからない。スマホに慣れた身には少々不安感はあるが、具体的に困ることもなさそうだ。今日は、今月の白鳥寄席があるので出かけた。いい天気。

バスの中でメガネも補聴器も忘れてきたことに気づいたが、まあいいだろう。
スマホがないので電車の中では首の柔軟体操をしつつ頭だけが働く、先日書いたなんちゃって俳句の改良版を思いついた。

寄席があるのは庭園の中の清羽亭(せいうてい)。上段、入側、一の間、二の間を通しにして行われる。庭園に入ると池にはカモメが沢山浮かび、鯉は水面で餌をくれろとパクパクやっている。カラスは地面の上の誰のためか判らぬ空のエサ箱にとまっている。スズメも沢山あちらこちらにピョンピョンと飛んでいる。清々しい朝である。

開場は9:30で、到着したのは9:45頃。途中には、掃除をする職員の姿がちらほら。玄関前の敷石にはまだ凍る季節でもないので打ち水がしてある。もちろん、掃き掃除も済んでいる。何時から働いて頂いているのだろう。無料の寄席のために・・・、頭が下がる。

玄関で下足札を受取り、中に入るともうちらほらと客が座っている。入側の席を試したいとも思ったが、補聴器がないので少しでも高座の近くが良い。一つだけ残っていた最前列の奥に座ることにする。見ると、一番前の席の大半は新聞などで席取りされている。一旦来て庭でも見に行ったのだろうか。始まるまでにまだ30分以上ある。

何人かが席を立って廊下を歩いて行くのが見えた。その方向には立礼席の札が張ってある。そうか、時間までお茶を頂こうということだな。私も後に続く。靴を履かずとも立礼席に行ける。途中の渡り廊下は冷たくないように緋毛氈が敷いてある。

立礼席に着くと、亭主は作務衣を着た爺さん。次々と客が来るのでひっきりなしにお茶を点てている。床の間には「吉祥」の掛け軸と紅白の山茶花(?)。外の池には相変わらずカモメが沢山浮かんでいる。ふと気がついたが、鴨などの水鳥に比べて喫水が浅い。比重が軽いのかな。

菓子は織部の皿に、「冬ごもり」なのか、こし餡を羽二重で包みきな粉とニッキがまぶしてある。500円の代金を渡し、食べているとお茶が来た。茶碗は鶴の柄。その後、隣の２人にも茶が来た。柄は同じなのだがそちらのほうが貫入がくっきりしているし、器の厚みもあるように見える。

前置きが長くなったが、寄席の席に戻った。
最前列にいた女性が高座の座布団を眺め回し、方向を正しく直していた。立派なものである。

先月は講談を披露した旭堂鱗林の司会で始まる。彼女は今日はこの後大阪に出かけるらしい。まずは所長の挨拶。夏の水やりを職員が丹精し、その後9月の有難い長雨で、今年は紅葉が綺麗だったと。なんとblogもあるようだ。
今日の出し物は、柳屋三亀司の曲独楽と立川こしらの落語である。

三亀司は私と変わらないくらいの爺さんなので、声が割れて補聴器のない耳には聞きづらい。観客を起こすためという時々の大声はありがたい。曲独楽のはずがなかなか独楽を回さない。回さないで喋るのが芸なのだそうだ。２・３回回して、最後の日本刀の上に乗せる芸はやらずじまい。師匠三亀松さんの都々逸「お前正宗わしゃ錆び刀　お前切れてもわしゃ切れぬ」を披露して、ごまかした。大いに笑ったが本当はできねぇんじゃないかとも思う。今度会ったらヤジってみよう。

続いて「こしら」。こちらは若くて声が大きくて大変よろしい。出し物は「元犬」。時間の関係か下げがもう一つだったが、噺の中では大いに笑った。

寄席がはねて一応お庭を拝見した。土の上に枯れた松葉を敷き詰めて飾ってある。我が家でも真似したいが、多分犬の足に刺さってまずいだろう。

ライトアップの白鳥 Illuminated swan

11日でライトアップが終わるというので、先日行ったばかりの白鳥庭園にまた行ってみた。今回は、先回とは違う道を通って行ってみる。裏通りである。

すると、なにやら大きなお寺に出くわした。

As illumination of colored leaves would have been 11th, I visited Shirotori Garden again despite I went there the other day. This time I took a different route to the garden from the other day. I took a back alley.

Then, I came across a big big temple.

法持寺というらしい。
The name of the temple was found as "Houjiji".

寺に入るのはまた今度にして、堀川の方に進むと、公園だ。このあたりには公園が多い。あとで調べたら古墳らしい。そこに猫に餌をやる親父。どういうわけか、黒猫ばかりである。
Making it another time to enter the temple, I moved on toward the Horikawa river and found a small park. There are many parks around here. I checked the place later, and found the area is an ancient tomb. There was a dude feeding cats. Somehow all are black cats.

親父が去ろうとするとカラスが餌を目当てに降りてくる。黒猫にカラス、魔法使いだろうか。
When the dude was leaving, crows came down to get some food. Black cats and crows, is he a sorcerer?

親父の詮索はその辺にして、更に進み堀川を越えると白鳥庭園の北門である。門の外にも紅葉が美しい。
Putting aside scrutinizing the dude, I went on, over the Horikawa river, and saw the North Gate of Shirotori Garden. There are beautiful colored leaves even outside of the gate.

先日年間パスを買ったので、入場料ははかからない。パスを入り口で見せると、パウチしてくれるというので5分程待ってありがたく作って頂く。
待っている間に辺を見回すと、ライトアップの準備がされているのを見つけた。竹を削った趣のある灯りである。東山のむき出しライトに比べてかなり上等である。
As I bought yearly pass, I did not need to pay this time. When I showed the pass, a lady offered me to make it pouched. I thanked her offer and waited for for five minutes for the process.
While I was waiting, I looked around me and found a trace of preps of illumination. They are aesthetic lights curved out of bamboos. Much more artistic than the lights I saw in Higashiyapa park the other day.

綺麗なモミジも眺めていると、人が通りかかった。赤の他人を入れてモミジの写真を撮ってみる。逆光が映えてなかなかよろしい。
As I was looking at a beautiful maple tree, a lady passed by. I tried a picture of the maple including the total foreigner. It came pretty good as the backlight was very effective.

日没まではどこが綺麗になりそうか偵察するわけだが、ドウダンツツジ、万両、モミジの三点セットに巡り会った。
Until sunset, I had to search the area to find where would show up on illumination. By chance I stumbled on a red set of Japanese enkianthus, a Ardisia crenata, and maple tree.

やや道に迷いながら歩いていると、白鳥庭園訪問3度目にしてこんな滝があることを知る。これがライトアップされると綺麗だろう。ふと見るとその前の小屋に日没を待つ写真家の親父がいた。嫌がる様子もなかったので、同じ小屋に座って日没待ちとする。持ってきたコーヒーを飲んだり、チョコを食べたりしながらである。小学校の遠足のようで楽しい。
Walking around a little losing my way, I discovered this water fall after three times visit to Shirotori Garden. This would get fabulous when illuminated. There was an old man with big cameras waiting for the sunset in a hut in front of the fall. As he did not seem to dislike my company, I decided to wait for the sunset sitting in the same hut. It was as I was drinking coffee that I brought, and eating chocolate. I enjoyed the time as it was like a elementary school excursion.

通りかかった別の親父の公園談義を聞きながら待っていると、ようやくライトアップが始まった。空はまだ薄明るい。
After listening to the story of gardens of another old man came by, finally illumination started. The sky was still a little bright.

今日は、この美濃和紙のオブジェが沢山道に飾られていた。驚くような細工もあって見ごたえがあったが、残念ながら、紙なのでアクリルケースに入っていて、なかなか撮影は難しい。
Today, many of these art works made of Mino Japanese Paper were displayed. Some were of really intricate works, and were impressive. However, unfortunately they were placed in acrylic boxes, and it was hard to take good pictures.

池にはこんな竹製かと思われる巨大生花風のオブジェもあった。
In one pond, there were art works looking like a giant flower arrangement like this probably made of bamboo.

モミジの水鏡も美しい。

A maple tree reflecting water surface was beautiful.

恒例の雪吊りも綺麗である。

"Yukitsuri" as usual were illuminated fantastically. 

出る前にもう一度先程の滝に行ってみる。日がすっかり暮れて大分違った趣になっていた。
Before leaving the garden, I went to the fall again. It became much different atmosphere as the sky was dark.

最後出口にあったオブジェ。これも美濃和紙製なのだろう。磨いた石に反射して綺麗だった。
Finally this was an art work displayed near the exit. It must be made of Mino Japanese paper. It looks fine as the image reflected against a polished stone.

寒さもさほどでなく、よい散歩であった。帰りは暗いので、無味乾燥な表通りを地下鉄の駅まで歩いた。
It was a enjoyable walk as the cold was not so bad. As it was dark, I took a tasteless main street to go back to the subway station.
